Changes to the Appointment System On Monday 14th May we will introduce an new system on managing our appointments. Patients calling for an appointment will be called back by a Doctor who will discuss their needs, and hopefully, provide the necessary solution by phone, or allocate an appointment if necessary.
It is expected that this will not only save patients time, but also doctors time. It is our belief that in most cases all patients will either speak to a docotr or be given an appointment the same day.
More information is avaialble in out Practice Newsletter which is freely available from all reception areas
Failure To Attend * If you are unable or no longer require your appointment, please contact the surgery as soon as possible.
* REMEMBER - forgetting to cancel means someone else didn't get the appointment they needed.
Home Visits If you are too ill or immobile to attend surgery and need to see a doctor please call before 10.30 to request a home visit.
IF YOU CAN ATTEND THE SURGERY PLEASE DO SO.
If possible give the receptionist some idea of your problem to enable us to plan our visits.
Internet Booking In preparation for the new appointment system being introduced on Monday 14th May, we have had to cease the internet booking of appointments. We apologise to for those of you who have found this facility useful, but we are currently not able to integrate this facility with the changes we are making. Repeat Prescriptions In order to prevent mistakes, we no longer accept orders for repeat prescription over the telephone.
Please visit the practice to place repeat orders, or your local pharmacy may be happy to place the order on your behalf.
Once an order has been placed, please allow 48 hours for it to be processed.
Please do not ask the doctor for your repeat medication during a consultation if at all possible.
From time to time you may be asked to see the nurse or doctor for a review before the next prescription.
Telephone Advice Often it will not be necessary for you to see the doctor if your problem is minor or you just want advice. All the doctors can be consulted by phone at the end of morning surgeries. Alternatively the practice nurses will be able to offer telephone advice. You may be asked to leave your telephone number for the doctor or nurse to ring you back when they are free.
Zero Tolerance The practice operates a zero tolerance policy. Patients who are violent or abusive to a G.P or member of staff will be struck off the practice list. Violent patients will be reported to the police.
